The Smithsonian Associates are thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated Smithsonian Summer Camp for the summer of 2025. This unique opportunity is open to children entering kindergarten through ninth grade, offering an immersive experience exploring the Smithsonian’s vast collections, exhibitions, and themes. The camps will run from Monday, June 16, to Friday, August 15, at the S. Dillon Ripley Center, located at 1100 Jefferson Dr. S.W. in Washington, D.C.

Engaging Experiences for Participants

Participants in the Smithsonian Summer Camp will have the chance to partake in a wide range of exciting activities designed to stimulate their curiosity and creativity. From museum visits and hands-on projects to games, collaborative challenges, and discussions with experts, campers will be fully immersed in a world of learning and discovery. With over 90 camps on offer, running Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., there is something for every young explorer to enjoy.

Younger participants can look forward to activities like storytelling, art, and science under themes such as “Junior Paleontologists,” “Rainforest Researchers,” “Underwater Worlds,” and “Amazing Asia.” Older campers, on the other hand, can delve into specialized programs like “Smithsonian Spectrum” and “Soldiers and Dioramas,” offering in-depth explorations into art, science, and history.

Registration and Details

Online registration for the Smithsonian Summer Camp opens on Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. ET. Early registration is available for donors at the Contributor level ($300 or higher) from February 10 to February 12 and for Smithsonian Associates members on February 13. The cost for weeklong camps is $495 for non-members and $425 for members, with discounted rates for shortened weeks.
