Anne Arundel Students’ Musical Talent Takes Center Stage at Elite Honor Ensembles
In a celebration of musical prowess and dedication, three students from Anne Arundel County Public Schools have secured coveted spots in the prestigious 2025 Eastern Division Honor Music Ensembles. This exclusive opportunity unites the finest musicians and vocalists from the East Coast, showcasing their exceptional talents on a grand stage.
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) orchestrates these honor ensembles every two years, drawing participants through a rigorous selection process. With over 2,000 applicants vying for a spot in the 2025 ensembles, the accomplishment of the chosen few is truly remarkable.
Exceptional Talent Shines Through
Among the standout performers representing Anne Arundel County are Cade Long from Broadneck High School Apex Arts, showcasing his musical prowess in the Commercial Band, and Hadley Dodson from the same school, lending her voice to the Mixed Chorus. Additionally, Citlalli Garcia-Ramirez from Meade High School will join the Mixed Chorus, demonstrating the county’s rich pool of musical talent.
Maryland secures only 5 percent of the student allocations for the Eastern Division Honor Ensembles, making the selection of three Anne Arundel County students a remarkable achievement. Jessica Valadie, AACPS Coordinator of Music, commended the students, emphasizing the dedication and hard work that propelled them to this prestigious honor. She remarked, “We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work and dedication each one of these students has shown in order to achieve this prestigious accomplishment.”
A Journey to Excellence
The selected students will embark on a musical journey to Hartford, Connecticut, where they will immerse themselves in rehearsals from April 24 to April 27, 2025. The culmination of their hard work will be showcased at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center on April 26 and April 27, 2025, in performances open to the public.
