Erik White | Opening Reception at Alchemy of Art
Erik White, a 36-year-old artist originally from the eastern shore of Maryland, shares his journey from a non-creative background to becoming a prolific painter and drawer. Influenced by skateboarding, music, and travel, White’s art reflects a mix of beach culture, African art, and 1980s and 1990s aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from artists like Ralph Steadman, Tafa, and Jackson Pollock, White’s work is a testament to his unique vision and life experiences.
The Alchemy of Art, a local contemporary gallery that showcases emerging artists, will host White’s opening reception on Thursday, January 2 from 6-9pm. The gallery, located in a converted convent with a charming old chapel room, offers a unique space for artists to exhibit their work. Visitors can explore the boutique that features locally made art and goods, making it a hub for the creative community in Baltimore.
