A delightful morning meal shared with loved ones can set the tone for a beautiful day ahead. Whether it’s a fluffy plate of French toast or a simple slice of toast adorned with fresh fruit and nut butter, these intimate moments around the breakfast table can bring a sense of comfort and joy to all.

Recently, breakfast has taken on a whole new level of meaning with recipes inspired by wish kids. Nature’s Own has joined forces with Make-A-Wish to support children battling critical illnesses, pledging a generous $500,000 to the organization through 2026. This heartwarming collaboration takes center stage in the Slice of Hope Campaign, which shines a spotlight on the incredible stories of wish recipients and the transformative power of wishes.

For over four decades, Make-A-Wish has been granting the wishes of more than 375,000 children across the United States, providing them with strength and hope as they navigate through serious illnesses. These wishes not only bring families closer but also offer a sense of normalcy during challenging times, underscoring the profound impact of a single act of kindness.

To commemorate this partnership, Nature’s Own has unveiled special-edition Butterbread packaging featuring three remarkable wish kids: Addison, who lived out her dream of visiting Pearl Harbor; Aden, who enjoyed an unforgettable fishing adventure; and Joanna, who discovered the thrill of surfing in Hawaii. The campaign extends beyond product packaging to include in-store displays and a digital “Well Wish Wall” where shoppers can send uplifting messages to wish kids.

Krystle Farlow, the senior director of brand management at Nature’s Own, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the campaign, describing it as a two-year journey dedicated to granting life-changing wishes and spreading joy.

In line with this spirit, we present two delectable breakfast recipes—Bananas Foster French Toast and Peanut Butter and Apple Toast—that not only offer a delicious start to the day but also celebrate the profound impact of Make-A-Wish.

Indulgent Bananas Foster French Toast

This decadent recipe combines luscious caramelized bananas with perfectly golden French toast for a truly comforting breakfast experience.

Total time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:
– 4 eggs
– 2 cups half-and-half
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 stick butter
– 1 loaf Nature’s Own Butterbread

For the bananas foster sauce:
– 1/2 stick butter
– 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 3 bananas, sliced lengthwise and quartered

Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Heat a nonstick griddle or pan over medium heat and melt butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture twice, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the slices on the griddle and cook until golden brown on each side.

To make the sauce, melt butter and brown sugar together in a pan, stirring in the cinnamon. Once the mixture reaches a smooth, caramel consistency, add the sliced bananas and gently coat them in the sauce. Continue spooning the sauce over the bananas as they cook.

Plate the French toast and top with caramelized bananas and sauce before serving.

Quick and Nutritious Peanut Butter and Apple Toast

A swift and wholesome breakfast option, this toast combines the rich flavors of peanut butter with crisp apple slices and a drizzle of honey.

Servings: 1

Ingredients:
– 2 tablespoons peanut butter
– 1 slice Nature’s Own Butterbread
– 1/2 apple, thinly sliced
– 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions:
Spread peanut butter evenly over the slice of bread. Arrange the apple slices on top, then drizzle with honey before serving.
