Irvine Nature Center’s Summer Nature Camp: An Outdoor Adventure for Curious Kids
Are you a parent of a child who constantly questions the world around them? Do they have a thirst for exploration and a love for nature? If so, Irvine Nature Center’s Summer Nature Camp is the perfect place for them to spend their summer days.
Nestled in the heart of Baltimore, Irvine Nature Center offers a unique and immersive outdoor experience for children who are eager to learn about the natural world. With over 211 acres of forests, meadows, and wetlands to explore, campers are surrounded by endless opportunities to discover and engage with the environment.
Each weeklong camp session at Summer Nature Camp is centered around a creative theme, ensuring that campers have a new and exciting experience every time they return. Led by professional educators and naturalists, children participate in a variety of activities, including creative arts, on-trail investigations, animal encounters, and child-led play. The camp’s resident Animal Ambassadors are also on hand to provide valuable lessons about wildlife and conservation.
Full-day camps are available for children ages 5 through 12, running from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For younger campers ages 3-4, there is a half-day “Saplings Camp” option. Additionally, Irvine offers the “Little Birds Summer Camp” for children under 3 and their caregivers, providing a gentle introduction to the camp experience. Before and after care options are also available for families who need extended hours.
For older teens ages 13-16, Irvine’s counselor-in-training program offers the opportunity to continue enjoying the camp experience while developing leadership skills. This unique program allows teens to mentor younger campers and participate in special projects throughout the summer.
Located in Owings Mills, just a short drive from major highways, Irvine’s Summer Nature Camp 2025 will run from June 16 to August 22.
